Fill Dirt

Structural fill dirt and other types of soil are sold separately because they provide completely different functions and uses. You wouldn’t normally think of using topsoil to build your home, nor would you choose fill dirt to grow vegetables in your garden.

Mulch

At Dakin, our mulch is primarily made of tree bark or wood chips. We use recycled tree debris that would otherwise end up in a landfill or a burn pile.

When you need to purchase mulch for your next landscaping product, we can provide high-quality, recycled, natural wood mulches in bulk amounts. Plus, we will never sell mulch made from construction waste or used pallets.

Clay

Since the earliest times, humankind has used clay as a building material. Clay is a naturally occurring mineral found on the earth’s crust below the topsoil. Clay develops plasticity when wet, due to a molecular film of water surrounding the clay particles, and becomes hard, brittle, and non–plastic upon drying or firing Not all clay is appropriate for all uses. Dakin Natural Soils’ clay is a high LBR (Load Bearing Rating) A high LRB is important because it packs with greater density and therefore can be used for constructing a clay driveway or clay roads.
